James Ross
M, b. 1780, d. 1860
Biography | James moved from old Virginia to Washington Township, Pickaway County, Ohio in the early 1800's. At that time, Washington Township extended from the eastern border of the county to the Scioto River, including what is now Circleville Township and the city of Circleville. In 1817, when Nathaniel, Henry , and Jane moved to Darke County, James remained in Pickaway County. The 1830 census show james living in Scioto Township. Sometime between 1830-1840, James move to Wayne Township, Randolf County, Indiana near Union City. James was a Farmer, carpenter, and minister of the United Brethren Church. Early census records that he and his wife had at least twelve children, five sons, and seven daughters. |
