Biography | After living in old Virginia, Nathaniel went to first to Pennsylvania and then to Ross (Pickaway) County, Ohio. In 1817, he moved to German Township, Darke County Ohio on a farm adjacent to that of his brother Henry. Nathaniel was a farmer and a circuit rider Minister of the United Brethern Church. He was licensed as a clergyman in 1823 and ordained in 1827. He founded the town of New London City in German Township about 1833. At one time the town contained a grist mill, a grocery, and a store. The town no longer exists. In 1858 he retired from farming but still served in the ministry. |
