John Harford

John was born in 1769 in Northumberland County, Virginia.

He married Rachel Compton in Culpepper County, Virginia, in 1790.

Biography

John was a shoemaker. He reportedly took his father's place in the Revolutionary War. He moved to Culpeper County, Virginia where he married. He and Rachel moved to Harrison County, West Virginia, in 1815; then to Lewis County, West Virginia. They moved to Warren County, Ohio, in 1825 and to Jay County, Indiana, in 1837.

Death

John died on 4 August 1843 in Jay County, Indiana.

Probate

His estate was probated in 1844 in Jay County, Indiana.

Burial

He was buried in Green Park Cemetery, Portland, Jay County, Indiana.
