Susan Frances Hammons

Obituary | Mrs. Susan F Anderson, 92, died Sunday morning at 7:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Curtis H Clark, who lives three miles south of Portland on the Boundary road. She had been in failing health for three months and for the last three weeks had been critically ill from heart trouble. She had resided with daughter the last five years. The deceased was the daughter of Robert and Harriett (Scott) Hammons and was born in Jackson, Ohio, April 15, 1839, and was the last surviving member of a family of 10 children. She was united in marriage to Jefferson Anderson, a Civil war veteran, April 18, 1867, who proceeded her in death several years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Weesner,of this city, and Mrs. Clark at whose home she died. One son and one daughter are deceased.She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lower Salamonia church. Rev Lee Tyndall of this city will officiate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. |
